With buffalo horn mounts finely carved in openwork relief  with a beautiful dark brown original patina.
This iconography with deer, pine rocks and trees seemed to be very rare on bamboo works of art carving and the style suggest an early datation.
The deer symbolize immortality and is the companion of the god of longevity Shoulao.
